After wrapping up the first calendar year for Forever Great, we look forward to 2022 with open arms. 2021 was a year of firsts – opening our e-commerce store, having our first supporters and customers, and even experiencing shake-ups within our team. The past year was full of ups and downs for many. We all continued the fight against COVID-19, many dealt with the loss of loved ones, and we even experienced climate disasters. Despite all of this, we hold strong and look forward to what the new year brings. And for our team here at Forever Great, the new year will bring many new opportunities.
Forever Great began in early 2021 as a result of my involvement with the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Learning how to run a business while attending college was a challenge, but it has since turned into a thriving operation, with lessons to be learned at every turn. Learning how to properly market to our wonderful customers, trying to keep inventory up with demand, and being as sustainable as possible in every aspect. Many challenges have impacted our operations, namely the ongoing supply chain crisis, but nonetheless we continue to learn and grow. I’m excited to have recently graduated from college and look forward to pursuing Forever Great full-time.
With that being said, we have some very exciting things on the horizon for 2022. We will be launching our spring collection in late March/early April, consisting of new shirt designs, hoodies, and more surprises. Our other products will be fully restocked this spring as well. We are excited to host more events in 2022: community beach-clean ups, pop-up markets, and more. Also, be on the lookout for a special event this spring. Once the snow melts away, our spring/summer beach clean-up program will be in full swing as well.
We look forward to having a big community impact in 2022. We will be keeping a running total of all trash removed from beaches this year, continue our philanthropic support of Alliance for the Great Lakes by donating 8% of all profits, and strive to spark important conversations regarding preservation of the Great Lakes. We aim to continuously improve our sustainable practices as well: incorporate new recycled fabrics into our clothing, commit to carbon neutral shipping, and provide our community with tips and tricks on implementing sustainable habits in your own life.
We are grateful for the community support we continue to receive. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter, be on the lookout for volunteer opportunities this spring and summer, and follow us on social media @forevergreatmi. Our passion for the Great Lakes drives our business, and it is driven even further by our passionate customers and community. Thank you for a great 2021 and cheers to an even better 2022.
